Good afternoon! We are back in action this week with a slew of upcoming events, plus some news on business openings and closings around town.

This weeks lineup:

  • Construction for San Clemente’s mini golf experience, Salty Turf, is underway. We’ve got the deets on what to expect, and when it’s scheduled to open.

  • A pizza party, trolley art & history tour, and a Halloween event for you and your pup - plus lots more, happening this week.

  • A new coffee shop that’s worth smiling about, plus an old favorite in DP is closing it’s doors (and what’s scheduled to open it’s place).

  • San Clemente’s Restaurant Week is happening all week, and we’ve found a few local menus that are definitely worth trying.

PUTT-PUTT

It’s almost time to dust off those putters and start practicing your short game.

As reported by the San Clemente Times, Salty Turf, the newest mini golf experience to hit South OC, officially broke ground in September.

The project is 4.5 years in the making and will be located at Vista Hermosa Sports Park in San Clemente. The complex will have two 18-hole courses and a clubhouse for food and refreshments.

There will be an adventure-style course inspired by San Clemente landmarks like the pier, Trestles train tracks, and a military-themed hole honoring Camp Pendleton. And a more professional course will be designated for serious golfers, with holes modeled after classic courses, such as Augusta National. The clubhouse will include a concession area for mini golf players and park visitors.

Opening day is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend in 2026; just in time for the start of summer.

What’s opening in it’s place? Shelter Distilling, from Mammoth Lakes & Colorado, taking over on December 1st. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.

Cheers to an incredible run Still Water, and welcome Shelter Distilling.
